2003 Statistics:
Entries closed three weeks before the event at 155, after which over 30 entries were returned. Surprisingly 23 entrants did not turn out on the day despite the good weather forecast, numbers were bolstered by 16 riders who benefited from this unlikely occurrence. The prevailing conditions must have assisted the 148 riders with 136 completing the ride within the 8½ hour time limit, this success rate of 92% is the 2nd highest to date!
