Dartmoor - the cloud of Foot & mouth disease finally lifts. DNPA logo

Walkers on Dartmoor (near Venford)
Dartmoor National Park - finally re-opens.
Dartmoor National Park has finally had the restrictions lifted, two weeks later than the projected date of 1st July.
This weekend will see the first people accessing the Northern parts of the moors since the restrictions were put in place at the end of February.

Off road riding has been particularly badly affected by the parks closure, and although the roads have been open to all vehicular traffic, there has been a significant reduction in regular riding on Moorland roads. Hopefully this will soon return to normal with several sections having destinations on Dartmoor in the near future.
